The Jonel Foundation was incorporated in April of 2002 and is a private foundation qualified under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. (The IRS determination letter is available on request.) Its purpose is to provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors from public high schools located on Native American Reservations in Montana. The scholarship covers two years at a tribally controlled equal opportunity community college and an additional two years at a State supported college or university located in Montana. The scholarship is a "full" scholarship consisting of tuition and course materials for the first two years, and room, board, tuition and course related materials in the third and fourth years. The Foundation's mission statement is "Creating Opportunities Through Scholarships." |
